Important

Please make sure you have served the Notice of Adjudication on the other party/parties before completing this application form. Unless the parties have agreed to the Building Disputes Tribunal making the appointment of an adjudicator, you must make this application for appointment within two to five working days of service of the Notice of Adjudication. This is a statutory requirement. If the parties have agreed to the Building Disputes Tribunal making the appointment of an adjudicator, you may proceed to complete this application at any time.

You are eligible to apply for our fixed fee scheme for Low Value Claims (LVC). This scheme is suitable for claims of low complexity with no onsite inspection or conference of the parties. The volume of supporting evidence is limited according to the corresponding LVC bracket.

*The claimant may file only the Notice of Adjudication, the Claim (submission), any Reply, any contract or any other underlying legal document (eg a trust deed). Additional documentary evidence is restricted to the number of pages set out above.

Note: If the claim or response presents undue complexity or the evidence exceeds the permitted limit, there are more than three substantive issues or the claim is consolidated with one or more other claims, the Building Disputes Tribunal may decline to provide the adjudication on a fixed fee basis under the LVC Scheme.

In that event, the Building Disputes Tribunal will advise the parties and the adjudication will revert to a General Claim with the cost of the adjudication being determined by the time the adjudicator is engaged in the case, together with any additional expenses incurred.
